New Build Reservoir

As the Reservoir Refurbishment Framework Contractor for South Staffordshire Water, Stonbury had the opportunity to tender for the design and build of a 10Mg potable water storage point at SSW’s Outwoods site, on the outskirts of Burton on Trent.

Mountain Stream Intakes

Stonbury have recently completed modifications and improvements to 2 stream catchment intakes in the Welsh Mountains, to ensure maximum collection of water feeding the water treatment works.

Break Tank Construction

Stonbury were commissioned to construct a new concrete break tank at a Water Treatment Works. The purpose of the new tank is to allow the water company to decommission an existing contact tank.

GAC Backwash Tank Refurbishment

Stonbury refurbished a GAC backwash tank at a Water Treatments Works following an inspection and clean that we recently carried out for the client. Report findings showed that extensive internal and external refurbishment works were needed. Works involved internal joint refurbishment and minor steel work coating repairs to the outlet pipe to both cells of the tank. We were also contracted to clean the cells ready for return to service at works completion.

Internal & External Service Reservoir Refurbishment

Stonbury have completed extensive internal and external refurbishment works for one of our framework clients, to a service reservoir approximately 100 years old.

Weir & Dam Refurbishment

We were contracted after lengthy client/designer/contractor investigation works to complete the full refurbishment of 10 No. weir and dam structures near Burton upon Trent. The site had been vastly converted to be a high profile strategic site but these structures landed outside the main development area and now required immediate upgrade in case of collapse.

Water Treatment Works Contact Tanks Refurbishment

Stonbury were recently awarded the contract for the repair and refurbishment of internal contact tanks within a Water Treatment Works facility.

Steel Bridge Refurbishment

Stonbury were commissioned by a local council for the refurbishment of three redundant railway bridges that form part of the Whistle Way Walkway at Narborough. Each bridge required a fully encapsulated scaffolding and traffic management on the though roads to facilitate the works.

Staircase Schemes

To address the issue of safe access across several sites for a framework client, we recently completed a scheme to install new access staircases and handrails to tanks, where any existing staircases were not meeting client standards, or none were present.

Media Bays

Works were recently completed at two separate Water Treatment Works to increase the aggregate storage capacities. In total, six new standalone bays were constructed and a further two existing bays extended for increased capacity, used to store dirty sand, clean shingle, dirty shingle and carbon.

Steel Sludge Holding Tanks Refurbishment

Stonbury, specialist contractors to the Water Industry, have recently completed the internal refurbishment of 2 steel sludge holding tanks.
