Stonbury rise to the challenge
Over the years almost every one our clients at one time or another have had issues with their assets that require urgent assistance at extremely short notice. Recently we were asked by one of our clients for help to work within a reservoir that had not been drained for many years due to supply issues that arise when the tank is out of service An internal inspection had revealed the existing joint material was breaking down and as such the asset was not able to be immediately returned to service. Plans were put in place on a Thursday to mobilise 9no men to work both Saturday and Sunday to prepare and lay approaching 500m of overbanding material. Despite initial problems on the Saturday morning with plant deliveries, we were able to fulfil our obligation and complete the work as required. Heating was also installed within the tank to strictly control the temperature within the structure to ensure that the shortest possible timescale was required before the tank could be returned to service to minimise risk to the water supply to the surrounding area. This included overnight security to ensure that the tank remained secure and the equipment was not tampered with which would potentially affect the cure of the materials. Emergencies such as this are a constant reminder that the dedication and hard work of all our staff ensures our clients can have the peace of mind that when help is needed, it is always available no matter what the circumstances.
