WATER TOWER ROOF REFURBISHMENT

Stonbury was contracted to extend the life of a water tower in the South of England. This included the removal and replacement of the entire roof slab.

New build transformer concrete bunded base

Due to a flood event inside a high voltage building, which was situated on a Water Treatment Works, Stonbury were asked to relocate the existing transformer onto a new concrete bunded base and waterproof the building to prevent future ingress.

Critical Asset Repairs

Earlier in the year, we began carrying out repairs to a failing reservoir which showed signs of severe water ingress. The original scope included 180 linear meters of crack repairs. However, following an inspection, this increased to more than 300.

New Build Reservoir Partition Wall

Stonbury were contracted to build a full-height division wall to create two separate compartments inside a potable water reservoir. This was due to the high demand for supply, which meant the tank could not be taken out of service for inspections and maintenance works.

INTERNAL & EXTERNAL RESERVOIR REFURBISHMENT

Stonbury completed refurbishment works to extend the life of a 40ML underground service reservoir which indicated signs of severe ingress from rainwater.

Steel Water Tower Demolition

Stonbury were contracted to optioneer and price for the demolition of an abandoned water tower in the north of England. The works were required following a structural engineers report, which raised concerns over the towers long term safety.

MAGNETIC VENTS FOR ACCESS COVERS

As part of an extensive refurbishment programme, Stonbury have been replacing the push-fit vents used inside security access covers on reservoir roofs. The vents allow air to pass through the reservoir while preventing insects, small animals and debris from entering the tank.

Clean and Chlorination

Stonbury is currently contracted by UK water utility companies to complete cleaning and inspections across potable water estates.

Steel Tank Coating Application & Removal

Following a statutory inspection by the client, Stonbury were contracted to complete refurbishment works inside a steel tank, which showed severe signs of rusting and peeling of the existing coatings to the walls and soffit.

Water Liner Installation

Stonbury were recently asked to inspect a reservoir that required some minor remedial works, including repairs to the exposed roof joint, however substantial ingress through the floor slabs and the adjacent redundant tank was quickly identified.

Service Reservoir Refurbishment

Stonbury were recently contracted to undertake internal and external repairs to two adjacent clear water tanks located in Central Scotland. The works were required to improve asset resilience and water quality.

Reservoir Roof Replacement

Stonbury were recently contracted to install a bonded membrane system to a service reservoir roof. However, following further investigation, it was clear that with the configuration of the existing structure, this would not be possible.
