Dams and Walls

Stonbury provide specialist repair, leak-sealing, stabilisation, and modification to a range of structures including, but not restricted to:

• Concrete, stone, and block dams
• Earth fill and rockfill embankment dams
• Retaining walls and perimeter walls
• Steel components, e.g., weir plates

Spillways

Spillways require regular inspections and maintenance and therefore Stonbury frequently undertake the following works to ensure their continued safety and functionality.

• Cleaning and inspection
• Vegetation removal
• Repairs to concrete, stone and block structures
• Stabilisation and improvements to spillway walls and basins
• Stone works: Replacement, rebedding and repointing

Tunnels and Pipework

Works include specialist repairs and maintenance to structures such as shafts, scour tunnels and draw-off towers and other concrete and steel pipework.

• Cleaning of sludge, silt and ochre build-up
• Removal of degraded coatings

Access Structures

Stonbury supply new build access structures along with maintenance and refurbishments that ensure the provision of safe and secure access to assets.

• Vehicular access tracks
• Steps and walkways
• Steel, concrete or gravel pathways including non-slip coatings
• Entrances, gateways and fencing
• Repair or replacement of steel landings, ladders and handrails
• Steelwork blasting and painting of handrails and bridges

Embankments

Installations and works to control erosion and maintain and stabilise embankments include:

• Gabion baskets
• Stone, concrete, and geotextile retaining walls
