Maintenance 24 August, 2021 Invasive Species Clearance Stonbury was contacted by a local council regarding an on-line balancing pond that was built on the Moorgreen Stream, due to overgrowth of Typha latifolia (bulrush/reedmace) and the presence of the invasive non-native Hydrocotyle ranunculoides (floating pennywort) identified by the Environment Agency.
Maintenance 28 June, 2021 Harbour Desilting & Flood Gate Release Stonbury was asked by the Environment Agency to propose and execute a solution to free a set of floodgates within a harbour on the bank of the tidal River Severn.
Maintenance 17 May, 2021 HYDROMETRIC STATION ASSET MAINTENANCE Following the successful completion of routine maintenance works at over forty-five hydrometric stations, Stonbury has been awarded several contracts to manage and carry out routine quarterly maintenance at over one hundred gauging sites across Wales.
Maintenance 29 September, 2020 IMPROVING WATER CONVEYANCE Stonbury was contracted to complete works along a tributary of the River Avon in Worcestershire. The works were necessary to maximise conveyance and improve the positive impact of the flood storage area upstream.
Maintenance 29 June, 2020 RIVER CHANNEL WORKS Working with an ecologist, Stonbury recently cleared 650 metres of dry channel, including the removal of obstructions to flow. Site won, green materials were then used to enhance the stream. Gloucester Wildlife Trust commissioned this work as part of the ERDF Wild Towns Project, which had been developed to create, connect and enhance green spaces for wildlife across Gloucestershire.
