Stonbury has been awarded Achillies Carbon Reduce certification in its sixth year reporting under the scheme.
Achilles provides the serious analysis and expert supply chain insight necessary to comply with ESG regulations, meet stakeholder requirements and achieve ambitious ethical and sustainability goals.
Stonbury is pleased to gain recertification under the Achilles and Toitū Envirocare Carbon Reduce programme. The certification has been achieved each year since obtaining baseline data in the year 2018-2019.
The Carbon Reduce scheme (formally CEMARS), provided and audited by Achilles and accredited by Toitū Envirocare, empowers Stonbury to manage, quantify and report its carbon footprint.
The certification demonstrates that Stonbury meets the requirements of Carbon Reduce by achieving results within programme mandatory greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and a commitment to reducing ongoing emissions.
These achievements have been verified and validated in line with ISO 14064-3:2019 and the Carbon Reduce Programme Technical Requirements for the 01 July 2023 to 30 June 2024 measurement period.
Stonbury is pleased to report a reduction of 709 tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent (tCO2e) in all GHG emissions since the base year and a reduction of 247 tCO2e since last year. This represents a 24% absolute reduction in overall emissions, which is a 63% intensity reduction when adjusted to account for business growth in that period.
This year, Stonbury’s primary focus is to reduce emissions from road fuel as this represents the largest emissions source for the business. Stonbury has also introduced several incentives to increase carbon literacy within the business, which are revealed in its new ESG Strategy.
The commitments, including GHG emissions reduction targets and plans, have been reviewed to ensure they align with the Carbon Reduce programme requirements.
Carbon Reduce is a world-leading carbon emissions verification and reduction programme developed by scientists to support businesses of all sizes to build best-practice capability on carbon, achieve long-term sustained carbon action and report Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions with confidence.
Continued enrolment in the programme will help Stonbury to significantly reduce its carbon footprint and offer industry-leading sustainability assurance to clients and the planet.
