The Pledge is run by the Conflict Avoidance Coalition which consists of over 100 leading organisation including public bodies, contractors, consultants and professional institutions. The coalitions mission is to reduce financial, reputational, and relational costs of disputes throughout the supply chain through better conflict management. There are currently over 360 organisation and businesses signed up to the Pledge. As Stonbury Ltd have recently achieved Gold status in the Conflict Avoidance Pledge, this shows we are a working in a collaborative manner and dealing with problems early to try and avoid any formal disputes.
Case studies
River Works Project (Framework Contract)
We delivered works under a long-term framework contract where unexpected site conditions caused significant delay and additional cost. A Compensation Event was raised and initially agreed but later challenged, creating potential for formal dispute.
The issue was resolved at senior level through constructive engagement and reference to supporting case law, with the client agreeing a settlement that closed the matter without recourse to adjudication or dispute.
