Water 30 December, 2019 Steel Tank Coating Application & Removal Following a statutory inspection by the client, Stonbury were contracted to complete refurbishment works inside a steel tank, which showed severe signs of rusting and peeling of the existing coatings to the walls and soffit.
Water 24 October, 2019 Water Liner Installation Stonbury were recently asked to inspect a reservoir that required some minor remedial works, including repairs to the exposed roof joint, however substantial ingress through the floor slabs and the adjacent redundant tank was quickly identified.
Water 23 September, 2019 Service Reservoir Refurbishment Stonbury were recently contracted to undertake internal and external repairs to two adjacent clear water tanks located in Central Scotland. The works were required to improve asset resilience and water quality.
Water 26 August, 2019 Reservoir Roof Replacement Stonbury were recently contracted to install a bonded membrane system to a service reservoir roof. However, following further investigation, it was clear that with the configuration of the existing structure, this would not be possible.
Water 22 July, 2019 Bridge & Spillway Refurbishment The bridge came up in a section10 inspection, which was deemed to require attention. It was decided that a new protective paint system would be applied to the whole structure.
Water 24 April, 2019 Baffle Wall Replacement Due to the presence of Chrysolite Asbestos inside a drinking water contact tank, Stonbury were contracted to remove a contaminated baffle wall and it’s supporting steel structure. The wall was to be replaced with a new thermoplastic baffle curtain.
Water 22 March, 2019 Lagoon Repairs As the main contractor for refurbishment works, a framework client required Stonbury to install a cofferdam system and carry out repairs to a settling tank at a water treatment works.
Water 14 February, 2019 Slow Sand Filter Repairs Stonbury were contracted by a framework client to complete ingress repairs to five, 3m deep, slow sand filter wells, at a WTW (Water Treatment Works). One of the wells was a 100 year old structure.
Water 31 January, 2019 WTW Surge Vessel Replacement Stonbury was contracted to supply a replacement surge vessel for a water treatment works site. The original vessel had failed the relevant pressure vessel insurance requirements and after inspection of the asset, evidence of coating delamination and corrosion was also found.
Water 24 October, 2018 Service Reservoir Asbestos Removal Stonbury were contracted by a framework client to return to a service reservoir that was initially taken out of service several years ago, after an inspection highlighted asbestos fibre contamination, due to a delaminating asbestos cement inlet main.
Water 3 April, 2018 Surge Vessel Refurbishment Stonbury was contracted for the refurbishment of 3 No surge vessels after an inspection highlighted the manways did not conform to the current confined space specification. Works involved the installation of new manways along with the removal and replacement of the existing internal coatings.
